New Executive: The new Executive is now in place and is already making plans for the coming year. Because we are now down to one office staff member, Ms. Fielding, the Executive will be picking up phone and email messages to the Association whenever she is absent on well-deserved holidays. Negotiations: Next spring negotiations with the Board of Governors for our new collective agreement will begin in earnest. In June, the LUFA Board unanimously appointed outgoing President Jim Ketchen as the Associations chief negotiator. The Executive and Board will soon be starting the process of researching and discussing negotiation strategy, policy, and issues. Expect a survey soon in the new school year as well as consultations between the Board, its committees, and the general membership as we prepare our negotiations package.
